
Microsoft ended speculation as to whether it would slash the price of its Xbox 360 console when it announced it will cut the price by $50 Aug. 8. The 20GB console will retail for $349.99, including a wireless controller and headset, while a core system will retail for $279.99. The Xbox 360 Elite, with a 120GB hard drive, will retail for $449.99.
Earlier reports had the price drop taking effect August 12.
